HALL OF FAME 2008 Gerald Wall - Ft. Cobb
Gerald Wall Ft. Cobb Gerald Wall has been coaching at Ft. Cobb since 1979. In 1992, Coach Wall took a virtually non-existent program and turned it into one of the most recognized programs in the state of Oklahoma. One year after beginning slow-pitch softball at Ft. Cobb-Broxton the Lady Mustangs made their first State Tournament appearance. The tradition continues and in the past sixteen years the Lady Mustangs have been in the State Tournament thirteen times. The Lady Mustangs were State Runner-Up in 1996 and State Champions 1997 and 1998 under the leadership of Coach Gerald Wall. Coach Wall was an All-State Coach in 1996 and was the Oklahoma Coaches Association Coach of the Year three times. Coach Wall attributes the success of the program to a very supportive community, a great Little League program and dedicated student-athletes. Ft. Cobb-Broxton Softball has had 21 Slow Pitch All-State Athletes during Coach Wall’s career. Coach Wall’s dedication and love of the game continues as he is currently coaching the Junior High Lady Mustangs to help build stronger, smarter players and is assisting the Varsity team. Coach Wall plans to keep the tradition going for many years to come.
